Sexually active teens face a broad range of potentially negative outcomes related to HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Teens who received a behavioral intervention centered on abstinence were more likely to delay first sexual contact.
The finding points to the lack of proper mental health care available to people with HIV, the researchers said.
The only way to know for sure if you have HIV is to get tested. You could have HIV and still feel healthy. Many doctors recommend HIV testing for all teens and adults between the ages of 13 and 64.
